“Well after all folks God's in control.”
You've said it and I've said it it's a common phrase used in the body of believers around the world. But is He? Is god really in control of all this chaos and crime that's going on in the nations of the world today?
I don't think so.
This statement we make about God being in control is probably one of the greatest weapons that the atheist has against the Christian message. They say if God's in control why are babies dying and floods wiping out whole cities?
Somehow we Christians just say well he knows best and leave it at that. But that doesn't answer the question nor does it answer the confusion in the young believers heart.
Is God really in control? No He is not. You and me as believers are you control, because He has left it in our hands to subdue multiply dominate and rule the history that we live in.
Now if you say that God is in charge then I will agree with you because he is.
When the Scriptures tell us that in him we live and move and have our being this telling us that God is in charge of everything that we do.
Because he is in charge he has made a decision to give us self will which means we can make decisions good or bad.
Scriptures tell us that before us is life or death then he tells us to choose life.
If God was in control he would force us to take life but because he's in charge he has the authority to give us the ability and the opportunity to choose life.
And so it goes my friend we can't slack off and expect God to do all the heavy lifting what he has given us commission over this world to rule it and dominated by his authority and power.
So buckle up and launch into the glorious opportunities we have to shape history and give God glory.

Because we live in a world of such uncertainties, we find ourselves clinging to our faith in God's faithfulness and love. Because of our faith in God, our lives are much different from those who have no faith or trust in his provision.
It's called the security of the believer.
However, with our faith in God being challenged, we can become confused and discouraged, wondering if what we believe is even true.
This is called a "crisis of faith."
I received Jesus Christ as my savior as a child and have walked in that faith for seven decades. I have never had a "crisis of faith" concerning who Jesus is or even that the father loves me in all that time. I have never doubted that I will go to heaven when I die, or I have never doubted that my sins were all forgiven.
Yet I discovered another area of the crises of faith that had to do with nearly the same importance as salvation itself. That crisis of faith has to do with growth, revelation advancement, and spiritual development into God's things for us.
Any sailor can stand on the shore while the ship goes to sea and still claim they are in the Navy. Yet it is the sailor that goes on the ship to the far sides of the oceans and experiences the storms and the battles that come back with an understanding that the one that stayed on the shore will never have.
This type of crisis of faith will keep you from understanding the life of prophecy, divine healing, the angels of the Lord, the supernatural mystic side of the gospel, etc.
Remember that sin is missing the mark. If you don't believe it's possible for you to hear from God and that he would speak to you personally, you are missing the mark.
It's time to repent, change your way of thinking, and believe that all things are possible.

I heard Rex Humbard say this in a sermon, and it's stuck with me. "you can't drive a car with your eyes on the rearview mirror."
Think about the power of that statement concerning your journey in life and your spiritual growth. If we continue to keep our eyes on what we have done in the past, both good and evil, we will never accomplish what God has for us in the future.
The children of Israel are an example of this when they met with their first opposition. Because they still had their eyes on the pass, they wanted to go back to it. YouTube back to bondage. There is something about the past that brings a false sense of security. It must be that we are so familiar with it that we feel at home and in some way relate that to peace.
I acknowledge that the past has importance because that is the foundation that we build from. However, as a good house contractor knows, once you make a foundation, you bury it, and from it, the house's structure arises. In most cases, the foundation is never seen again. But you know it's there because the home stays secure and solid.
In Hebrews 12:2, it tells us that Jesus had his eyes on the work and power of the cross; that's the way he went through the pain and shame of it.
It's no wonder that the scripture tells us to look onto Jesus, the author, and finisher of our faith.

Rules? Who needs them? Well, truth be told, without rules, life would be impossible.
But how can that be preacher? I don't want anybody to tell me what to do. I'm a free agent?
Here's a question for you. How would you like to take away the rules that govern the universe, including the sun coming up tomorrow morning?
That's a silly question; there's nothing to do with my independent life.
Yes, it does because everything is tied together with the same rule that governs the sun and regulates the seed that will produce your next meal.
Have you ever heard anybody say, "if you don't work, you don't eat?" That's a rule that has worked in all of history. That's why the farmer gets up early every morning to plow the ground and plant the seed. That's why the carpenter put his tool bag on to build another house so he could feed his children. That's why the mother gets up early to prepare breakfast and send her children to school so they will prosper in life also.
You do away with rules, and your life has no Rudder to guide you to the target that you have in mind.
When Jesus said if you kept his commandments, you would prosper and be a success, he was talking about obeying the rules of life that have been set out ahead of you.
The number one rule for you to have a long life is to obey and honor your mother and father. No, that's a rule we can live with.

Faith is a muscle. Now, that's a strange statement and an odd way to look at the subject of believing in God. There are many things to know about faith that are important.
First of all, faith is the key ingredient to having any interaction with God. The Scriptures tell us that "without faith, it is impossible to please God for he that comes to God must believe that He is and that He is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."
We also learn by reading the scriptures that there is weak faith, little faith, no faith, and great faith. So if that is true, how do we grow or enlarge the faith that we do have?
First of all, according to Romans 10: 9 and 10, faith comes from hearing the word of God. By this scripture, we know that we need to take in God's word by reading and listening, and meditating upon it day and night.
Secondly, first Timothy 4:8 tells us that we need to exercise unto godliness. Then in first Timothy 3:16, we see there is such a thing as the mystery of godliness.
So here we go.
God gives to every man or woman the measure of faith. That faith he has given needs to be exercised or practiced until it becomes a muscle that can have a great face and do exploits.
To arrive at great faith, God knows we need a challenge, so he gives us a mystery to search out and discover its deep meaning. As we do that, our faith grows because faith is a muscle. And every muscle needs exercise to be healthy.

Jesus declared in John 10:10 that the thief comes to steal and destroy. Of course, we know that to be Satan, the wicked one. Jesus says, but I have come that you might have life and have that life more abundantly.
When God created the cosmos and the universe we live in, he established principles with which it would function. Those principles and rules never change; that's why the sun comes up in the morning and sits in the evening.
Every law of life that God established is still in effect. He said that there would be seedtime and harvest as long as the earth remains. That's a long life you can never change in Congress or in a society that is in rebellion against God.
You can call an apple an orange all day long, and at the end of the day, because of God's law, it is still an Apple.
God's original plan to restore everything to his intended purpose will never be altered.
From Adam to the last prophet in the Old Testament who spoke of God's promises of restoration, nothing changed God's mind, and he intended to restore all things.
Then Jesus came.
When the world encountered Jesus from the cradle to the cross to the tomb and resurrection, they came face-to-face with God's plan to restore all things.
In my journey with the father, I have learned that what I know and experience does not encompass the magnificent horizon of God's purpose and plan that lay ahead of us.
So open up your eyes and your faith and receive restoration in your world today.

The power of one versus the power of many. The force multiplication factor is in effect.
When the Scriptures tell us that hidden within the word of God is everything we need for life and eternity, we can't imagine how big this statement is.
The simple teaching that if two shall agree as touching anything Jesus said he would do it for you.
Where is a force multiplier?
A force multiplier is a factor that gives military assets the ability to accomplish more extraordinary feats than without it.
Jesus stated it this way, "without me; you can do nothing."
It doesn't get any clearer than that life without God in the midst of it is a life that is wasted. If you think that's an exaggeration, take a survey of men and women throughout history who've given themselves to other gods versus those who serve and live for the one faithful God, Jesus Christ.
If you find honest historians, it will be a clear example of what life is when you have the force multiplier of the spiritual world that connects you to Jesus and the father through the power of the Holy Ghost.
That scriptural statement says, "But you can do all things with me."
How can that be, you ask?

It's adjustment time for you and me, the believers in Christ Jesus. And that adjustment that we must take seems to be a daily exercise according to scripture. Even though we get saved one time which we refer to as the born-again experience. The act of faith and obedience that we performed at our original salvation is the same action we take daily to stay on track and target.
When Paul referred to the fact that he died daily, he wasn't referring to physical suffering as much as a submission to God's rule in his life.
If you're giving notice to the actions that are going on in the world around us, you are tempted to be weak in your knees and wonder if there's any hope for the future. We ask why doesn't God deal with this wickedness. We have often joked that I would deal with it if I were God for a day. And everyone goes back, thank God you're not God. ( amen to that)
In psalms 73, the writer tells us that he was starting to stumble because of the prosperity of the wicked. It wasn't until he turned into the sanctuary and became adjusted once again to God's word and the fact that God would win in the end. Then he was strengthened and could continue to walk according to principle and purpose.
So adjust yourself, bring yourself back on balance, turn yourself into the sanctuary of God's presence and his word and watch your life strengthen again.

Consider the miracle of sight and all of the wonders that it affords us to behold.
The gift of sight that our father God has given us is certainly at the top of the list for the most important one. Yet because of our foolish lifestyle at times and ignorance of what can harm our site, we can lose that precious gift.
In the book of Matthew, the sixth chapter relates with Jesus' teachers about the eye how it allows light to come into the whole body.
Just think about the eye that is the window to the soul. Is it any wonder that the enemy of our life has perverted our eyes in this society to take in so much evil and bondage.
A little song from my childhood in church said it this way.
"Oh, be careful little eyes; what you see for the father up above is looking down in love, so be careful little eyes what you see."
God has given you two eyes to look with, but they must work together as a team for them to function correctly. If one eye decides to do its own thing, it throws the whole body into confusion.
So it is in the body of Christ and the relationships that we have in life. When we walk together in unity of spirit and purpose, so much can get done that would be impossible before.
The story out of the Old Testament about the tower of babel when God confused their language so they couldn't accomplish what they had in mind to build.
God said if I had left them alone, they could've accomplished anything they put their mind to.

Why is it when a wealthy man dies, especially if they're young, people tend to say how sad look what he lost? Or how about the young starlet ascending the charts of popularity suddenly has an accident and loses everything. We think to ourselves, what a shame they had so much to live for.
When a young mother and father have their first child, they have sex dreams and aspirations for that child. No sacrifice is too much so that they might give advantage to their unique child so that they may succeed.
Then we have special schools like Julie art in New York City that only receive those special children with exceptional talents. After all, they say it would be a shame to waste such great talent.
Have you ever considered your heavenly father as he watches our lives, knowing that we have great potential and yet seeing us fall so short of the mark? Our father God has put within us the ability to do precisely what he has the ability to do on this earth because of Jesus.
When it comes right down to the bare facts, sin is simply missing the mark and the potential that God had in store for you.
But preacher, is there any hope for me? How can I possibly do what God wants me to do and be?
In reality, we have an effortless life as a Christian. We believe we love, and we let him lead. When we do, we will get our dance partner back again and be in step to fulfill our destiny.
