Why God tears down before he builds up.
Have you ever wondered why it gets worse before it gets better? Or how about that age-old statement, "it's darkest before dawn." Well, there could be something to that, and maybe a God principle is involved in those statements.
I think about it for a minute regarding the examples of the children of Israel in the old testament journey. They were in Egypt for 400 years, and interestingly enough, they were not enslaved all that time.
Actually, Egypt was their salvation at one time when they were starving for lack of food.
Joseph, the second in command of Egypt, discovered his brothers who had betrayed him and brought them back to Egypt.
Now Egypt wasn't God's plan for Israel; it was not their inheritance or their Canaan land. But they became content because of the ease in their lifestyle and the prosperity of their families.
However, prosperity and lifestyle ease usually lead us to miss the real purpose in life that God had intended for us. Am I in favor of poverty and pain? Of course not. But it seems the human psychic has a propensity to slow down and get lazy when they don't have a challenge ahead of them.
So what does God do he gives us a bear and a lion along the way to sharpen our skills.
Why would he do that? Because he has a Goliath set up just around the corner that will take us to our destiny and the purpose he has planned for us.
Our life is often shaped by the challenges we embrace and those we run away from.
Why does God tear down before he builds up? Because he knows you can't build on feeble and false foundations because you will lose everything you invest if you do.
The illustration of pouring new wine into old wineskins would give us the principle we're talking about. I believe God is deconstructing much of what we have been taught from the mind of men concerning who he is so that we may know him in his purity.
Much of what we know about God has been filtered through the thoughts and fears, and suspicions of others.
I believe we've been called to have a face-to-face relationship with a father so that we might know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of your spirit.

I wonder what it was like the day after the resurrection of Jesus? Seeing that the resurrection of Jesus is the most important and influential event ever in human history, I'm expecting to see something explosive. Why don't we look and see the effects of the resurrection or the day after it happened?
According to scripture, the first thing I see is a woman in the garden next to the tomb weeping. Oh, that doesn't look good.
Then we take a peek at the disciples hiding in a house, fearful of going out in the streets.
What is going on with that?
No, keep in mind this event that just happened has shifted history. The age of the old testament has been closed, and a new era has started called the kingdom of God on earth. Jesus is gone into Hades to preach to those that had died and left them forth in freedom. He is also taking his blood to the father, who has been accepted as the sacrificial lamb, pure and holy.
Yet I look around and see sadness, fear, and a loss of vision.
The disciples were expecting a physical kingdom where they could sit next to Jesus on the throne in Jerusalem. All they could see was that their leader had been killed, and they were on the run for their life.
That doesn't sound like much of a celebration on the day after the resurrection, does it?
Well, of course, we know that the days moved on, and eventually, the disciples came around, the church was born at Pentecost, and the seed of the kingdom was in the ground growing.
In case you hadn't noticed, we are living in the shaping and changing of history at this very moment. Things happening on the earth and in our nation are so powerful that there effects will change our future and give us the promises of God unfolded. Yet because we can't see their results today, there is sorrow and fear in the world and, sadly, in much of the church.
Many are fastening their eyes on what they see around them and in the news reports and have taken on a spirit of fear and worry anxiety that brings torment.
So what are we to do?
Keep your eyes on Jesus and believe the prophets, and you will prosper.
Multiplied millions are turning to Jesus every day in nations around the world.
So rejoice, we are on the winning side.

And they lived happily ever after. As you may know, Hollywood's early founders and creators were from a Jewish background. One of the stories of their founding that I heard was quite intriguing. Because the Jewish people have suffered such persecution through the centuries, a group of them decided to build a place they could produce stories with happy endings. I suppose the idea was to create a world with stories and films they could live in that would counteract the suffering of their personal lives.
So because of the founders of Hollywood and their ideas of right and wrong with a firm belief in justice, the majority of what they produced in the early days had happy endings.
If that sounds familiar to you, it's because it's the original plan your heavenly father laid out for all of his children to live happily ever after.
However, something came along called a fall in the garden because of Adams's treason.
Even before that took place, our heavenly father prepared a world for us to live in that we would live happily ever after. That's what it means when it declares that Jesus was sacrificed before the foundation of the world.
The cross of Jesus Christ was so powerful that everything before and everything after the cross had been covered by its accomplished purpose. All through the old testament, the prophets, kings, and priests were empowered by the work of the cross. God was preparing a place called the Kingdom of God where we would live happily ever after.
So now you and I have entered that kingdom by faith in Jesus Christ and are now in that active stage of Life eternal where we truly are living happily ever after.
The Life that you have in Christ will never end. You did not get saved so you could go to heaven. You believed in Jesus Christ and his work on the cross and became eternally alive, never to die.
That's about as close to living happily ever after as anyone could hear about on this earth. Don't wait for heaven to enjoy eternal Life; you've got the seeds, and you know it will take you on into His future, Life forever more.

The hallelujah side. What is that?
When I was a young kid in our Pentecostal church, we sang a song called "the hallelujah side." I just supposed that everybody knew what the hallelujah side was because of the enthusiasm that they sang the song with. And I had my own ideas about what it was, and I knew it must be a happy place because everybody was singing loud and strong.
"All glory be to Jesus, let the hallelujahs roll, let me sing my saviors praises far and wide
For I've opened up to heaven all the windows of my soul, I'm living on the hallelujah side"
So what could the author of the song really mean when he's talking about the hallelujah side? And what would be in the mind of an enthusiastic audience building out loud tones with joyful sounds singing about the hallelujah side?
Let me see if I can express it like I suppose a child would receive it or see it.
There's a main street running through our little town, and it has two sides to it. On one side of the street is depression and fear, and loneliness and sorrow dwell in the houses and storefronts along that side of the street.
Strangely enough, a dark cloud never seems to leave that side of the street.
Those that live there shuffle back and forth as if they really didn't have any place to go, just moving along looking down at the ground. They call this, "the I am depressed, and I am a victim side."
Yet on the other side of the street, the sun is always shining, and a whistle comes from the lips of men as they walk along, and a song comes out of the happy lady as they enjoy the day. They call this the hallelujah side.
So what makes the difference same street, the same town, two different groups of people living life. Believe me, it's been investigated by many people and this is what we found out.
We discovered that what you see is what you get. Your words attract things towards you. The one who confesses that they are a victim and there's no hope for them goes deeper and deeper into a life of depression and bondage.
But the one who has a hallelujah on their lips and gives praise to their Creator will attract blessing after blessing, and the sun will shine on them.
So my friend, guard your heart, for out of the abundance of the heart, the man speaks.
Because the words you speak Will determine the side of the street you live on.
Hallelujah!

The blank slate. God said in the Scriptures that he would write his laws in our hearts. So how does that translate to our daily lifestyle of following Christ? What does it mean to have the laws of God written in your heart?
In reality, we do not act out of our minds by reason or thinking; we operate out of our hearts. That sounds so odd and unusual in our society because of the strong emphasis on educating the brain.
The results have given us a generation of people who exhibit selfish and harmless activities void of heart, passion, and purpose.
When the scriptures tell us that "as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he, "it is not referring to a metaphor of some kind, and it is speaking of the actual human response to life which proceeds out of the hearts of the human.
As young Christians, we sang the song "come into my heart Lord Jesus come in today, come in to stay, come into my heart or Jesus."
So if God writes his laws on our hearts, there must be room for them to be written. When the heart is filled with man's ways, there is no way for God to begin to apply the truth of the kingdom of God to that man.
If the laws of God, i.e., the revelation of Jesus Christ as Lord, are applied to a heart filled with man's ways, it becomes religion.
Every religion is Spond out of someone trying to apply the revelation of the kingdom of God through Jesus Christ over their own perceived ideas of life and eternity.
So we must have a blank slate of hearts ready to receive the complete revelation of grace applied through the blood of Jesus Christ.
How do we prepare our heart so that it may receive a pure revelation of Jesus?
It's the simple act of believing and repenting.
Believing is an active submission that cleans the heart to receive.
Repentance is the process of a man shedding his opinion of himself being the ruler of his own life and changing his mind to that fact.
Tradition calls that salvation.
I call it a clean slate. Now God can write His law on my heart.

Unconditional love. Oh, brother, that sure sounds religious and high-minded.
I know God is love, and I know we are supposed to love one another, but after all, life is tough, and you've got to be careful who you let close to you.
Whoops, did I say that out loud well? I know I thought it often enough as I'm learning the father's heart? Love.
I've said many times, OK, OK, I believe in love but give me power; we need more power in the church. Oddly enough, it seems like the congregation of people love power because they come out in droves when the power boys are in town.
It's biblical: heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out devils prophesy; it's all there except for one little caveat.
It's not genuine unless done out of a heart of love.
OK, I received that, but I have a hard time loving what I do about that.
Love is the original contagion; you get around it, and it just jumps on you. That's why we've been invited by the father to come in and fellowship because he is the true source of love. After all, we can only love through the love that God puts in our heart.
In our effort, we can muster up pity and human caring sorrow for their problems, etc. Those expressions of emotion minister to the soul of the person, not the spirit.
The love of God ministers to the spirit of the person, which affects the whole person.
So the door is open to the father's chamber; come on in, let's have some FaceTime with the God who is love.

You cannot be lost unless you belong. That's such a simple statement yet so profound.
Unfortunately the world around us has completely missed the fact that they belong to someone his name is Jehovah.
Jesus gives us three examples of things that were lost and then found in Luke 15.
First of all we have the lost coin. Notice the woman in whose house the coin was lost.
It was in the house of the woman who owned it. There were no strangers in that house looking for the coin. We would call them thieves. Didn't Jesus say that the thief comes to steal kill and to destroy but I have come to give you life and that more abundantly.
So the one who owns you already is the one who gives you life. It's not the thief he's come to steal he doesn't hold you.
The question then comes down to who really is in charge of the world who has the title deed to the cosmos and all that live within it. Didn't David the writer of the Somme say that the earth is the lords and all that are in it?
If you were temporarily in the hock shop that has already been taken care of. You have been redeemed back to the father by the cross and the resurrection and the power of his blood.
That's why the scriptures declare that you have been bought with a price therefore glorify God in your mortal bodies.
That statement is not just to Christians who have confess Christ as Savior. That declaration has gone out to the entire world they have been bought and paid for their rightful master is God himself.
That's the good news that comes out of the story of the prodigal son and the father that was waiting to receive him. He never stopped being a son even though he had lost it all and was living with the pigs. The gospel message is and always has been come home the father loves you you're still my son.

Are you a mystic? Well, isn't that an odd question to ask this early in the day?
The picture that comes to most people's mind when you say Mystic frightens most of the traditional church. Matter of fact opens, till a couple of decades ago, the word wasn't honored except by some fringe movement in the body of Christ.
So if you're an old-timer like me, you have to have a mind change to see what God is speaking to this generation of young soldiers that are being raised to take the kingdom around the world.
What is a mystic, and are you one?
First of all, a mystic exists in a world of spiritual reality. To the Mystic, a spiritual experience is familiar to them as it was to those in Bible times. The gospel has brought the Mystic into intimate fellowship with Godhead. They walk the high road of truth, or the old prophets and apostles down through the centuries have walked.
The martyrs' reformers and Puritans evangelist missionaries of the cross all lived a mystic lifestyle.
The Mystic differs from the ordinary orthodox Christian only because they experience their face down in the depths of their very being while the other does not.
The Mystic is quietly, deeply, and sometimes almost aesthetically aware of the presence of God in their nature and the world around them.
This describes the generation of young zealots that are being raised in the kingdom of God to take this world for their king. It is a life of personal relationship with God that they know intimately, and they are indeed friends of God.
All over the world, men and women are experiencing a face-to-face relationship with the God of creation and the father of all mankind. This is all made possible by the work that Jesus did for us on the cross and at the resurrection.
Ask the father because he said he would show you the Way.
Come on. Mystics, let's enjoy the journey together.

How to live on the way to eternity.
If that's the first time you've heard a statement like that, then I need to do some explaining.
Come to think of it; if you've been raised in the church and I've heard a statement like that, I need to do some explaining. Sadly, most of us as believers park at the first revelation we have on God's kingdom. When we opened our spirit to Jesus, we were taught that we would live forever. Then, of course, they added that you have eternal life after you die.
Well, the scriptures that capture the words of Jesus are very clear on when that eternal life happens. We don't die to receive eternal life. We believe in Jesus Christ to receive eternal life.
So how am I to live if I believe I am now eternally alive in Christ. Plainly speaking, we shape our lives and plans based on our concept of the future.
This generation of young people that have been through the universities and were raised in Hollywood movies are convinced there's no hope for them in the future. Because of that, the suicide rate among that age group is off the charts. Why?
Because when you have no revelation of the eternal life that Christ has given you, the future is nothing but darkness and gloom.
However, those who put their trust in the Lord live life full of vision and purpose and the joy of the Lord. The reason?
We are now living life this life with eternal life residing in us and flowing out of us because of Christ. Death is not my master; I do not fear it. Why?
Because Christ conquered death and took the sting out of it.
When we were raised with Christ from the dead as he was, we received the same life that he received; it's called everlasting life. That's what we live in today and on into every future day ahead of us.
So rejoice you will never die. Oh, there will be some pretty significant changes along the way, as a matter of fact, some supernatural changes. But no worries, that are in God's hands; he will take care of it.

Heaven is not a retirement club.
It's pretty amazing all the variations and ideas people have about heaven and the afterlife. If you're a non-church person, your idea of heaven has been shaped by Hollywood and the movies they have produced in the last several decades.
Hollywood has trained you that angels are named Charlie, and they ring a bell when they get their wings. The subject of God from Hollywood comes in all forms of thought and perverted ideas.
They have attempted to introduce God in several forms. Of course, all of them are man's ideas and someone's perspective of what they think God would be.
If you're a church person, you have your own set of befuddled teachings and half-baked ideas of heaven and God himself. I don't say this lightly. I was raised in the church, and the message was never really clear and sometimes not understandable.
Of course, this is a statement about the church in general. I am aware that many excellent teachers, pastors, spiritual leaders, etc., understand heaven and who God is.
In the last 15 years, you may have been hearing about people going to heaven on a spiritual journey and coming back, reporting what it's all about. Of course, this is way out of general Orthodoxy in the church, and Orthodoxy means that everybody thinks and believes the same about a particular subject.
Of course, that's what got Jesus, and the apostle Paul in trouble, wasn't it. They refuse to repeat what the elders of Israel have been teaching for centuries.
Pay attention because I believe God wants to peel the onion of revelation concerning heaven and his throne room. He has invited us in, and we don't have to wait to die to go there.
And like Roy Rogers and Dale Evans often said, "happy trails to you."
