Would you be surprised if I told you that the church has a concept about God that is not exactly complete? If you've been a Christian very long, you've already learned that principle of theology that there's much more to learn than we know today.
One thing the church is taught that needs some improvement is the idea that God needs nothing; he's complete in himself. But with a closer examination of scripture, we realize that God does need things outside of himself.
For instance, he needed a family, so he created man and woman in the human race.
It also seems that he has a pleasure need because somehow, we give him pleasure when he gives us the kingdom. LK 12:32
This understanding of our father doesn't take away from his supreme rulership in the cosmos and that he is Lord of all. It might show us if we understand this because we are so loved by our father, who created us, that he went to the extreme to redeem us by giving his only begotten son as ransom.
God, our father, did not do that out of a rulebook or as a robot; he did it out of compassion and love for the people that he created in his image.
Think about it.

When the subject of God's communication to his children comes up most of them say that he never talks to me or gives me a message. Even though the apostle Paul tells us that no one is without excuse because even nature speaks to us.
So how do we communicate to the body of Christ Christian brothers and sisters that God is speaking to them in many different ways including the nature around them.
Take for instance the “suddenly’s" that happen in life.
A chance meeting. A wrong turn all the way to the store that brings you face-to-face with an old friend that you haven't seen in years. A wrong number on your phone that turns out to be someone that needs prayer.
All of these things that happen suddenly have a message with them. God is trying to get your attention so that you can be his voice and his hands in someone's life.
You have prayed and said oh God help me to be a blessing to someone. Then horror of horrors you get a traffic ticket and God gives you the opportunity to be a Christian witness to an officer that needs to meet someone to pick his spirits up.
So pay attention today everything that happens to you as a message with it.

Procrastination is just another form of fear. When you hesitate or put off a project, something is working below the surface that is not made up of faith. When faith is involved in what you do, you face it boldly and run toward it.
There are times when we have a project to do that we need understanding and revelation; we may wait a season before we get involved in the project.
When faith comes out of your spirit, it has a different sense, and you boldly go forward. However, if you face your giant with your mind instead of your spirit, you hesitate or put it off for another day.
David ran toward his giant because he knew his God was faithful, and his courage and boldness came out of his spirit and not his head. David did not kill goliath for the king's money or his daughter; he took him out for his God.
Next time you face your giant, consider where your motivation comes from. It will produce faith and boldness if it comes out of your spirit. If it comes out of your flesh or your mind, you will hesitate and question whether you can succeed.
Remember, a double-minded man is unsteady in all of his ways.

"Down from his glory,
ever living story,
my God and Savior came,
and Jesus was his name."
That's the church song that dropped in my spirit as I began to meditate on Friday morning. Another song says it's an old story, but it never gets old; it's always new.
The powerful truths that is revealed in Jesus Christ are far beyond our imagination or anything we could conceive in our mind. It has to be a revelation from the Holy Spirit.
You cannot come to God unless the Holy Spirit draws you.
You cannot learn about God through your mind by studying books in history.
Jesus and his glory must come by revelation, and that is a gift that our father gives us.
So enjoy this Friday and revel in the glory that God has brought to you today.

When was the last time you were breathless over an experience you encountered?
No, I'm not referring to an experience of fear; I want you to bring to mind an experience with God and his kingdom.
We can manufacture a breathless experience by going to the theme park and riding on a scary ride. We catch our breath and scream as we go down so fast that our teeth rattle. What is that? Why do we do that?
I'll tell you why because God has built within us the desire to be overwhelmed with God stuff that this human body seems to lose its breath from the excitement and pleasure.
This is what every mountain climber is searching for. This is why people jump out of a perfectly good airplane and plummet to the ground with a little teeny parachute.
Racecar drivers and those who jump horses over hedges all are looking for that breathless experience that we can only get from God when we are in his presence.
Should I invite you to be in the room when the air is sucked out of it and you, become breathless because God showed up and brought his team with Him.

There was a teenage joke we love to pull on people that brings me to a serious point I want to make today about life.
In those days of endless summers, when one of our friends was walking away from us and just about to go around the corner, we would yell at them to come back. When they turned around and walked all the way back, we would say to them, "how far would you have been if you hadn't turned around"?
We always thought it was funny.
Yesterday the Holy Spirit was talking to me about something in my life that would have altered most of what I enjoy today if I had turned around and gone back. The enemy of our soul doesn't have to kill us to stop our purposes in life, and all he has to do is distract us and get us on the wrong pathway that leads to nowhere.
The "if onlys" in life Will short-circuit your forward progress and cause you to miss the target if you dwell on them.
For a good personal lesson, just think about some of the dumb things you almost did as a young person that would've been a disaster in your life.
Whoops, don't dwell on that; this is just a lesson to be learned.
Thank God today with me that psalms 91 is a reality in our lives.
He leads us, and he feeds us all the days of our life.

When does faith turn into knowing?
The life that we live as Christians is a spiritual life because it's living in another world. That world that we call the kingdom of God has laws and rules that do not match up with the physical world that we walk in. That's where our conflict comes in and tries to throw us off of our faith.
The apostle Paul is one of our Christian heroes in mentors. Because he was the author of 13 of the New Testament books, he becomes someone to pattern and draw from.
He declared that he came to a place where he knew it was true. Now, is there a difference between having faith and knowing?
Paul states in second Timothy 1:12 that he said, "I know in whom I have believed in and persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed under him against that day."
Somewhere in our walk with the Lord, faith turns into knowing. It's somewhat like Velcro; it just will never let go again. Paul uses the words persuaded and convinced, and committed.
Think about your walk in the spirit today and ask yourself the question am I living by faith, or do I know without question that he will never let me out of his hand?

Faith comes by hearing, and so does doubt.
Here's a good question to ponder as we start our week. Who do you listen to the most, and where does your daily input of information about the world around you come from.
OK, we can cut out the news media. We've stopped listening to our gossiping friends and neighbors. And we don't buy gossip magazines at the newsstand in the supermarket anymore.
That's a good start, but that's the small end of the stick. When it comes to inputting the information into your world, you're missing the heavy end of the stick, the main source of your information.
Your mind.
It's what you think in your mind that sets the course of your world and your future.
The Scriptures tell us that as a man thinketh in his own heart, so is he.
The heart, the core of our very spirit man, is set by how you think, and you think by what you hear.
The Scriptures tell us that we're to have the mind of Christ.
Listen as we hear what's in his mind in the Scriptures.
"Beloved, I wish above all things that they made prosper and be in health"
"It is the father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom."
It" s in the mind of the Father to do good to you every day in every way.

Happy birthday George Watkins. 77 years ago today, on Easter night Long Beach California. A young woman from Iowa by fern Luther put on an Easter play in the youth group. That's the night I received the life of God into my spirit with my confession that Jesus Christ is the messiah. Happy Easter, everyone. When we step into Christ, we step into eternity, and God's heavenly clock begins to tick. The lessons we learn on this side of the veil or simply how to act on the other side of the veil. The gun goes off and 12 huge horses lunge forward into the race of their life. The crowd stands in nervous anticipation cheering their favorite steed as it turns the last corner for the homestretch. When suddenly out of nowhere comes an underdog no one thought had a chance. The jockey encourages his steed forward until he has nose to nose with last year's champion.
Just ahead is the finish line if you can make it it will change their world forever. Time stands still the crowd is silent and at the last moment the underdog pushes his nose across the wire and wins the prize.
Well sound familiar sounds like life to me. The opportunities we have to succeed really have everything to do with our focus and faithfulness.
Get out of bed late come to work looking like you've been sleeping in your clothes guess who doesn't get promoted.
Why do we think it's any different in the world of God's spiritual greatness. He expects the same from you and I he calls it faithfulness.
For he said to as many as endure the same shall be saved.
It's Friday folks and the finish line is right ahead of us. Press on!
