The Hot Gospel. It's so hot that it will melt the hardest heart.
Today I found myself caught up in a whirlwind of information and began to feel the air leaking out of my soul. Everything I was hearing was terrible news and declaring that the world we know is going to collapse and fall apart.
It wasn't long before I got a hold of myself, and like Samson, I shook myself and remembered who God is and what his plans are for us as people of God. I also begin to remember the promises he made to our forefathers, those who established this nation that we live in.
When I remembered who I was and came to myself, I remembered my father and his house and how many servants he had that were totally supplied because of his great abundance.
One of the things that the doomsday people want you to believe is that this is the most terrible time America has ever had. Unfortunately, this is a byproduct of our failing education system, and those who go through it become functional illiterates.
In the church and the society around us, if you ask questions to the youth about our history, you would be hard-pressed to find someone who had a grip on what has gone on before.
We have come close to losing this nation several times, and God has intervened because of his promise and the design that he has for us in our future.
We had had riots before much more severe than we experienced these last years. We had had floods, famines, and tornadoes long before they invented the global warming con game.
We have had a Civil War and two world wars. Plagues of all sorts have ravaged our nation from time to time, yet here we are still functioning and going forward.
The key ingredient to our success is the gospel of Jesus Christ which I referred today to as the Hot Gospel. We have had revival in this nation to a magnitude you and I have never seen. One of them was before the revolutionary war, the second great revival was just before the Civil War, and another great awakening was just before the second world war.
Today I'm referring to that as the Hot Gospel. When you turn up the burner, you can melt any heart, no matter how hard.
So be encouraged, dear friend; there's Victory in Jesus.

Jesus plus me equals three. That's a strange statement to open up the discussion of Christ in me, the hope of glory. The union of the godhead with the human race is a mystery that is still unfolding for the Christian church. We teach it to the limit of our knowledge, yet knowing something is being revealed today that is causing some to catch their breath in shock and others to rejoice because of it.
When I was a young teenager, my father brought home a stack of books by EW Kenyon that began to open up to us that mystery of Christ in you. A few years later, an evangelist came through our church and taught about being in Christ and Christ in you, and it changed my life and understanding of my relationship with the father.
In the book of John, chapter 17, Jesus prays for his disciples and, in doing so, prays for every man and woman he has redeemed. Three statements stand out in this chapter concerning his prayer for you and me.
In verse three, Jesus gives us the key to eternal life: knowing the father and Jesus the Christ. This is not the case of just knowing about God but having a relationship with him through his son.
The second statement Jesus makes is in verse 11; he states that they may be one even as we are one. In this statement, Jesus gives us a look into how the kingdom of God operates and that we are intertwined with the father and his son so much that we cannot be separated.
He adds to that prayer in verse 21 when he says that they may all be one even as you father art in me and I in them that they also may be one in us that the world may believe that you sent me.
The third statement is so powerful that he closes with his prayer with it in verse 26 and tells us that the love of God has been put within us. We are not just converted, born again, or saved; we have been made one with Christ, and in doing so, we have been made one with God.
As a result, the very essence of God, which is love, is now in us and through us.
The result of love is that men will be drawn to the father and find fulfillment in him.

My most urgent appeal to you in the Lord is this you have nothing in common with the folly of the empty-minded masses; the days of conducting your lives and affairs in a meaningless way are over. ( mirror Bible Eph 4:17)
The plea that the apostle Paul made to those in Ephesus is the same one I made to you today. What has happened to you and me at the cross and resurrection is beyond comprehension. As the scriptures say, the natural mind cannot comprehend what the spirit has done; it takes a spiritual revelation from the Holy Ghost.
The apostle Paul said our minds had been blinded to the truth that God has redeemed us back to himself. Because of that, we live in the darkness of our minds which causes us to live in the lust of the flesh and the pride of life.
It's only when the light of the gospel breaks through that darkness that we see we have already been redeemed back to the father through Jesus Christ and his work on the cross.
No wonder the Scriptures tell us to let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus. We cannot intellectually understand what's happened; it must be a spiritual revelation called the mystery of godliness.
How does it work? Pray for the prayer the old boy did in the New Testament.
Lord, I believe help my unbelief. When you do, heaven will move in on you, and you will be amazed at the understanding that begins to come into a mind that had been darkening by unbelief, ignorance, and not knowledge of the scriptures.

Good intentions versus God's will.
To be like Jesus certainly must be the highest goal for any serious Christian. And I suppose there are various lists of important things it would include. Some would say the most important thing would be to heal the sick others may consider feeding the hungry or helping the poor.
However, I would suggest that you consider the most important thing to be like Jesus would be to obey the Father's commands that he has given. Jesus himself stated that he did nothing but what he saw the Father do, which indicates that he had his eye on his Father's every move and followed it closely.
You and I, as sons and daughters of the Father, have the same opportunity to be obedient to his will. But how do we know the will of God? We have great ideas and passionate plans but are the gods will for us?
I am convinced that there are many things God doesn't care which way you go or how much you do it. After all, he gives you self will help so that you can guide your life according to your conscience.
The two rules that are in effect Jesus gave to us as he was teaching. Love the Lord thy God with all your heart, soul, mind, and neighbor as yourself.
Good intentions or God's will, you can only really know which one is right for you if you spend time in his presence.

Owe, no one anything but love because love is the fulfillment of the old testament law.
When we look at this verse in Romans 13:8, we see two subjects, both of them essential to our ongoing life in Christ.
The first subject is a major one that affects our life in 100 different ways. That's the subject of living debt-free. Paul said to owe no man anything but love. It's an interesting pushback that you get from most people in this society that when you speak of living debt-free, you have to be kidding me, they say. We have been conditioned by the banks' credit card companies etc., to live on credit. Just charge it; they say everything else will be fine.
But everything is not fine when all the bills come due, and you find out you don't have enough to pay the man. Most of us that have lived a while have learned the hard way not to go into debt. The scriptures tell us that the borrower is a servant to the lender.
If you don't think that's true, don't pay your credit card this month and wait for the phone calls to start coming. If you wait another month or two, the threats will follow.
So Paul said don't go into debt; the only thing you owe to this world around you is to love them.
The second subject is the one of love and that it fulfills the law of God, especially the 10 Commandments. In short, when you love, it's impossible to steal , kill, commit adultery, or be greedy. So that pretty well wipes out the 10 Commandments.
No wonder Jesus gave us only two Commandments; love the Lord your God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself. How simple can I get? Just love one another, and life becomes so sweet.

Road trip with God-you don't know where you're going, but you're having fun.
Sixty-four years ago this summer, I left home for the first time to work in a revival meeting that my sisters were conducting in Coos Bay, Oregon. I was raised in a pastor evangelist home and was involved in the gospel ministry in some aspect all my life. Everything from carrying the instruments in and out of the church to singing specials and, at the age of nine, I preached my first sermon.
So I've been traveling with God for quite a while. And when I'm doing it right, I have no idea where I'm going and what I'm doing because he's got his hand on the wheel. When I'm successful, it's when I'm totally relaxed, knowing that he will guide me each step of the way.
I have a built-in barometer that signals me when I'm in the flesh or my own works because I become fruitful and nervous when trying to steer the car.
For the first 15 years of my life, I traveled hundreds of thousands of miles, utterly unaware of the effort it took to get there and, most often, how to get there. I had total confidence that my dad knew where he was going, so I would go to sleep in the backseat or play some game with my sisters as the miles went by.
The lessons that I have learned over the years as I've traveled with my heavenly father is that as long as I rest in his faithfulness, we will always get to our destination on time and in good shape.
The key to enjoying the journey with God is resting in his presence and drinking at the cup of his joy. I have found out that when it's time to make a change or take a break on this journey we're on, he will always let me know.

If you release, you will increase. "Give, and it shall be given unto you press down shaken together and running over for the measure that you give out it will be given back to you again." Sound familiar? It should if you've been in church much, at least in the churches that I am familiar with. It's part of the offering message most of the time. And how true it is, give, and it shall be given to you press down shaken together. But wait a minute, is that just for money? Of course not? That happens to be one of those life principles that God has woven into this world that we live in. You have to put something in to get something back. I can remember the days when my children would say to me," daddy, just write a check. We look back and laugh at that now, but at the time, it was hard to get through their understanding of finances; you must have something in the bank, or the check will bounce. Put something in to get something out. The scriptures tell us that if we want friends, we have to be friendly. What a concept. You mean I have to give a smile to get a smile, absolutely. All right, let's look at our relationship with the Lord. "seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all of these things shall be added onto you." Did you get it? to seek first, then you get a return. What about that age-old idiom, the early bird gets the worm. That early bird had to give something; he gave up sleeping in. Proverbs talk about the lazy man who roles over in bed and sleeps a little longer, and yet his house is in disrepair. So if you release, you will increase. Today release love. Release forgiveness. Release a generous spirit that invites others into the same journey that you are on. Give yourself to fellowship with the Father through the power of the Holy Spirit, and you will increase in ways you have never dreamed. It's all in your mind.
Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus: who been in the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with God.
In the mirror Bible, it reads like this: the way Jesus saw himself is the only proper way to see yourself.
So it's all in your mind.
Could it be that we are afraid to think that salvation could be boiled down to the simplicity of how we believe and our minds? Think about it for a minute. (no pun intended)
We talk about the spirit of man and the hearts of man and faith in God, so somehow, it feels wrong to think that it's all in our minds.
So let me put it another way the Scriptures tell us this: as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. Wow, that's pretty powerful. So the way I think about myself and the world around me will affect the results I have living in this world and in the world to come.
OK then; this verse tells us that we are to have the mind of Christ. It also says that in the mind of Christ, he thought of himself as equal with God.
Now you do the math. What does that sound like to you? I'm supposed to elevate my thinking and have the same thought patterns that Christ has because I have been made in his image.
No, I am not God, and I never will be. But in some mysterious working of God's dealings with mankind, we have been made in his image and have his spirit in us, so in that way, I am equal with God.
Wrap your mind around that, see, and if it doesn't change your day.

I'm being stalked by goodness and mercy. Psalm 23:6.
Did you know that whatever you honor will come to you? Well, it will. Take, for instance, a simple test in calling your dog to come to you. If you're angry, short-tempered, or even frustrated, your dog will shy away and perhaps not even come.
However, if you have a happy heart and a love for your dog, they sense it and smell it seems, and they come running.
That sounds a little silly to base truth or principle or a dog but is it? God made that dog function in this natural world. And he built within that creature a mechanism to keep them from being deceived and away from danger.
Take a look at the scriptures that states, "He that has friends must show himself friendly."
Or how about this one "a soft answer turns away wrath."
Both of those scriptures reflect the principle of honor; what you honor will come to you.
What about the world of finance? Money, money, money, everybody wants it, but not everybody knows how to get it.
Yes, there are some people that it seems money just chases them down and runs over them. Why is that? It's because they have learned how to honor money. Because they have the secrets of the financial world that has opened them.
So I'm being stalked by goodness and mercy because I honor them and the one who sent them. Goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in his presence forever.
That's a promise you could take to the bank.

Things to remember on the way to Victory.
This journey that we are on, called salvation, takes us from the place we were to the place we shall be. Some call it the walk of faith others may refer to it as the destiny that God has put in our spirit. However, you understand it there are some things you must remember along the way so that you will complete your journey in Victory.
There are several things I may suggest that would strengthen, encourage and keep you focused.
First of all, Joseph remembers his dream in Genesis 42: 9. God gave Joseph a dream that was the map of his life ahead of him. He remembered the dream, and it kept him on course and strengthened his resolve when he needed it.
Secondly, I would suggest that you remember the day you came out of bondage according to Exodus 13:3. The celebration and the remembering of what God did for us to bring us out of bondage keeps our focus on the essential things and the important One.
Thirdly I would remind you to remember that God's work is finished, and he has rested in Exodus 20:28. If the work is finished and he rested, you and I have only one thing to do, that is to rest in him. Everything we do comes out of rest.
Fourthly I would remind you to remember the faith of your forefathers Exodus 32:13.
Remembering our history and the foundation that has been laid guarantees our future faith and the possibility lying head.
Fifthly I would remind you to remember the Lord who has the power to get wealth Deuteronomy 8:18. He is your source for all things, both natural and spiritual. And he's the One that has the power and the resources for life's natural needs.
These are some of the things to remember as we journey toward our victories, and as we remember, we rejoice in the fulfillment of his purposes in our life.
