WHEN THE WIND BLOWS, DEAD LEAVES FALL
I stepped outside yesterday to take a break and give my dogs a chance to run in the yard and realized autumn is finally here. While standing there, a gust of wind blew by my face, and I was showered with a burst of leaves that covered the yard. The "Spirit of God spoke to me and said, "when the wind blows, dead leaves will fall."
After you've lived through a few seasons, you become aware of the signals that tell you change is at hand. The temperature has changed; the leaves on the trees are turning colors, and the autumn winds are beginning to blow. In the Northwest, that's a good sign that the season has shifted, and we are now heading toward winter.
The leaves on the tree have served their purpose. They gave us shade all through the hot summer, and now their duty has ended. As far as they're concerned, they would like to stay on that tree forever; after all, it's home to them.
But GodGod has other ideas for those leaves; they need to move on so the tree can rest and come back more robust in the spring. So what does GodGod do? He sends the wind, and when the wind blows, the leaves fall.
Remember the old prophet that had free room and board beside the creek? The rest of the country was starving, but the birds brought him food daily, and the stream gave him water. What more could a prophet desire; it sounds like retirement had come.
But GodGod had other plans for the old boy; his job wasn't over yet.
Because the prophet was content where he was, GodGod dried up the creek and stopped the delivery system for food.
Why does trouble come along and the wind of adversity blow at times? It's to get us off the dime and allow us to exercise our faith again. Much of our decisions come out of a sense of urgency because the winds are blowing again.
I believe if you take notice, you'll find that those winds will blow your dead leaves off so that your new season can come forth with strength.
Folks, pay attention; you can know when the seasons change. Jesus told us that we could look to the sky and tell when it was going to rain. How much more can we do that in the spirit?

EVERYTHING GOD GIVES US IS IN SEED FORM
I live in a valley dominated by farmers and the agricultural industry. 95% of the business produced in this area comes from the ground. We are one of the world's largest producers of tulip and daffodil bulbs. We feed untold thousands with the potatoes produced and shipped from the small valley.
What a miracle increase in production that God has given to us so that we might live and prosper.
It would shock the uninformed that all of this great product and increase comes out of a small container of seeds.
Everything God gives to us is in seed form.
We have successful exporters that do nothing but send seeds around the world that have been produced in our small valley.
Seeds have power and can manipulate the financial position of a nation. Some years ago, in Holland, they had what they called a "tulip bubble," where Tulip bulbs became so valuable that one bulb was worth the price of a house.
In the book of Mark, in the fourth chapter, Jesus says the farmer went out to sow the seed. He continued by saying that the seed fell in different places. And according to the place that it landed determines the outcome of the seed.
Everything God gives to us is in seed form.
Paul has a prayer in Galatians four, praying there and asking that Christ be formed in them. That statement indicates that when we receive Christ, it is a seed planted in the womb of our spirit that must come to maturity before birth.
This is not a heaven and hell issue; this is a grow up and be a son of God issue.
Just like the seed planted in a woman's womb has to come through the stages of development, so you and I, as Christians, do the same.
Unfortunately, many of our churches are nurseries instead of the headquarters of spiritual warriors.
It's time that we allow the seeds of the gospel that have been planted in the womb of our spirit to mature and come to full bloom so that we can do the will of God in our time.

THE MONSTER WITHIN THE MONSTER WITHOUT
There is a classical caricature that Hollywood portrays as the struggle between good and evil. You see the picture of a man who looks frustrated, if not worn down. On one shoulder, speaking into his ear, it is the devil. Standing on the other shoulder is an angel speaking in that ear.
The Hollywood understanding of the struggle that men and women go through in this world expresses the frustration and the depression that people without Christ live in all their life. The psychiatrist and counselors are busy day and night keeping those types of people out of the dark places the enemy's spirit can put them. The question is asked over and over how can I get rid of the monster that is driving me insane?
Paul describes his frustrating journey in the seventh chapter of Romans. Here he makes the statement, "oh wretched man that I am who shall deliver me from this body of death." We are listening here to one of the New Testament heroes describing his life and the monster that dominated him before he was converted.
Then in the following verse of Romans 7:25, Paul changes the room's atmosphere and declares the monster is dead because of the work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Listen to his declaration again.
"Oh, thank God he will through Jesus Christ the anointed one."
Now that glorious verse in chapter 8 of Romans echoes through our souls and spirit like the sweet winds of summer.
"Therefore now no condemnation no judging guilty of wrong for those who are in Christ Jesus for the law of the spirit of life which is in Christ Jesus has freed me from the law of sin and death."
The monster is dead, my friends; rejoice, you are no longer under condemnation.

RECEIVING AND GIVING THE BREATH OF GOD
The Bible is full of images and pictures in our minds that we can see the workings of God throughout the history of man. One of the very first pictures we carry in our minds is the creation of Adam. We are told that God formed him from the dust of the earth; as we read that, we can visualize the action that took place; God forming man in his image.
It's where the dynamics change as God releases his spirit by breathing into Adam the breath of life. We can visualize gods release of his spirit into the spirit of Adam, and he became a living soul.
Among the wonderful images I see in the New Testament is the book of acts where Pentecost happened. In the upper room where the faithful gathered, waiting for the promised gift from heaven, the Holy Spirit. Suddenly a mighty wind blew through the room; God again exhaled into the spirits of men, and they became new creatures in Christ.
Now take a picture of the modern carrier of that same breath, the preacher, the witness, the housewife, the next-door neighbor, anyone who declares Christ to the world around them. As they breathe out the gospel's message, the same breath released into Adam, and those in the upper room, comes forth from the mouth of those who proclaim his name.
You and I carry the same breath that God has within himself because he lives in us and speaks as we speak. Did not Jesus tell us that we could do greater works because we now could go to the father in Jesus's name?
Didn't the scriptures tell us, "as Jesus is, so are we in this world?"
Of course, it does.
So when someone tells you to take a deep breath, you're not just breathing in oxygen. You're breathing in the presence of the Lord. How can I say that?
Because you and I live in his presence continually.
And when you speak, remember, the breath that you used to speak his name and his word is the breath of God going into those that stand around and listen.
Exhale, my friends, and watch the world around you change.

HOW DEEP IS YOUR RIVER
It's a sad tale that is told when someone dives into shallow water, thinking that the water is deep enough. How deep is the River that you're in today? Well, of course, we're talking about the River of God in Ezekiel 47 that flows out of the temple.
It's my opinion that the modern church is splashing around in the shallow end of the River. I'm speaking in general terms, not specifics because God always has his "7000" still pressing into him. Your quest and mine certainly would be that we are in that group of people seeking the Lord for the deep part of the River.
To me, this visionary tale that Ezekiel tells speaks of our spiritual journey of maturity and growth. Each time the man with the line in his hand measured another thousand Cubix, the River got deeper. To me, the term 1000 represents a complete season.
If we can observe our spiritual journey, we would see that we go through seasons where battles are encountered, trials are endured, and victories are celebrated. There seems to be a measure that fills the cup, and when the cup is complete, we get to cross the River again.
I remember my first experience at a public pool in Yakima, Washington, when I was 12. I never learned to swim well because I was afraid of the rivers and lakes we were allowed to swim in. But I could do pretty well if I put swimming fins on, so I did. Then one day, feeling pretty proud of myself, I took my fins off and jumped into the pool's deep end. I'm sure the angels were there helping because it was a close call as a sank like a rock.
We've all tended to do that in our young days; jump into the deep end and almost drown. The Holy Spirit is faithful and takes us across one layer at a time.
If you're still splashing around in the shallow end of the River, ask God to bring you onto that next level, you'll never regret it.

THE JOSEPH PRINCIPLE #61/ THE SUNDAY NIGHT BLESSING WITH DR GEORGE WATKINS

THE JOESPH PRINCIPLE - PREPARING FOR THE STORM IS NOT A LACK OF FAITH
I come from a long line of Pioneer Pentecostal groundbreakers. My father left high school 30 days before graduation to travel to Texas with an evangelist and preach the gospel before Jesus came. The early Pentecostal world was fueled with a passion for taking the message of the cross and the Holy Spirit into the highways and byways of this nation. That was the family of mentors that God dropped me in the middle of.
Oddly enough, amid that fire and the passion, we picked up some bad habits, and our teaching on faith needed to be upgraded. We had been trained to trust God for our finances, and because of this, we learned to step out in faith and go as God provided.
So far, so good.
However, subliminally it was teaching us that if we had something set aside, as they say, for a rainy day, it was a lack of faith. It seemed that we trained ourselves that faith only operated when we had no money. We often wore the badge of poverty with pride, thinking we were sacrificing for Jesus.
On the flip side, let me be quick to tell you that God's always faithful, and it was because of these early Pentecostal soldiers the message of the baptism of the Holy Spirit was spread around the world. And I would again make a note with very little money.
When the so-called "faith movement" flooded into our world, it began to teach us that God was not afraid of prosperity matter of fact, he loved it. And according to our human nature, some of those that heard the message we're prone to go to the excess to the point their faith began to be in what they had in their pocket.
The spirit of God spoke something to me today. He reminded me of the "Joseph principle." Then he said preparing for the storm is not a lack of faith.
Then my attention was taken to our current situation with the recession and the hurricanes that are ravishing our East Coast. We are seeing multitudes of people with no provision for a storm trying to catch up when it is too late.
Is there a spiritual principle here? Yes, there is.
Why do the scriptures tell us to seek the Lord early? Early in the day and early on the journey. Why?
The same reason that Jesus prayed all night before he went on the journey is that just like saving money up, you have a spiritual bank account that you can deposit in. And when the storm comes, you'll have plenty of supply to get through to Victory.
Our spirit is like a battery; it needs to stay charged up. It's also like a bank account; you need to deposit something in there so you can have something to withdraw.
Also, your spirit is like ground; that's where the good seed is planted so that a great harvest will come to you.

PREPARING TO IMPORT #935/ EMBRACING THE FATHERS HEART WITH DR GEORGE WATKINS

PREPARING TO IMPORT
With our cell phones, computers, and hard drive capabilities in this modern age of technology, we know what it means to prepare for import. If we find interesting data that we want to bring into our system, we first have to determine the size of the data and the capacity of our system to receive it.
Next, we must consider the connection between the system that has what we want and our own. The connection determines many things, such as the speed of delivery which determines the time it takes to deliver.
Fortunes have been made because of discovering new integrative ways to deliver the data to you.
Then we must determine if our system is big enough to hold what were asking for. Size does matter when your ability to ask is greater than your ability to receive.
By now, you realize I'm talking about the world of the spirit and our ability to receive what God has to download into us. I have been a receiver of the good things of God most of my life and have discovered specific ways that I must prepare before I import from Heaven's glory.
Revelation, the first chapter, tells us that John was in the spirit on the Lord's day.
Now note that he had a particular method of preparing to import. I'm sure we have taken much of our pattern of entering God's presence from our great biblical heroes.
In my personal life and ministry, I have long ago set up a pattern for receiving the download that God wants to send from Heaven. That secret place that David talked about is of primary importance. Be quiet before the Lord and listen to the spirit speak to your spirit.
We call it prayer like it's only one thing, but there are many facets of that time in our prayer closet. Just like Jesus did before he went out into public ministry, we also spend time face-to-face with the father before we step into that place of authority on earth.
Clear a space for God to land on you today. Clear away the clutter of negative thoughts and unforgiveness, and let fear be gone in Jesus' name. When you do that, you will be amazed at how quickly God will download into your wisdom and revelation.

MORE INFORMATION REQUIRED
Would you be surprised if I told you that we don't get saved by faith? Oh, but you say we can't come to God unless we believe. Yes, that's true, but why do we believe; that's what I'm asking you.
Often the general response is that all the preachers I know tell us that we get saved by faith and not by works. Yes, I know we must believe in our heart and confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, thereby being converted.
But where did that belief come from?
We know by scripture that we have no faith on our own; it's God's faith that we use when we come to Jesus. So if I have no Faith, how then do I get saved?
The scriptures plainly tell us in Ephesians 2:8 that we get saved by grace through faith. So something must happen in our life that introduces us to the grace of God, thereby giving us faith to believe.
You will hear some teaching that we must have blind faith with no proof; believe God; that's all you can do. I don't even think God expects that.
Why?
When Jesus came out of the tomb and spent 40 days among his disciples, the Scriptures tell us in Acts 1:13 that Jesus showed himself to his disciples with many infallible proofs, and somehow he could convince them of who he was by evidence of what he had done.
Look at how he presented himself to Thomas by showing the scars on his hands and side. Thomas believed because he had evidence of a face-to-face experience with God himself.
Acts 15:11 declares through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ; we shall be saved. It's no wonder many Christians struggle with their faith in God because they have never had a personal experience with him. I guarantee you that when you do, your faith will never waiver.
So how do we have that personal experience?
Ask, and you shall receive seek, and you shall find knock and that she'll be open for you.

HOW TO HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT TOO
That statement has always seemed pretty confusing to me. What it says to me is that you have only one choice; you get to hold the cake and look at it, or you can eat it. Of course, once you eat the cake, you no longer have it. Crazy huh?
Well enough of that.
What I really want to talk about is Jesus and how we can partake of him daily and still walk with him in the cool of the day every day.
Think about it for a moment. So many of God's wonderful children believe you don't get to eat the cake after you get the cake. They receive Jesus as Savior, then sit and wait for the end of their life or the coming of the lord.
That's like having a great big birthday cake in front of you with a fork in hand but never touch it.
Think about the opportunities to know God beyond salvation; they are an ending.
Some of us who have stepped into the gifts of the spirit suffer from that hesitation to go on into other portals and doorways.
Behind each door is something greater and more blessed than we have experienced yet. Why do we wait?
It could be that we've listened to our founding fathers theologically, and they told us this is all there is now; just wait.
Well, I don't know about you. I'm not waiting around for the rapture bus; I'm digging into this cake and finding out just how much God has for us in this generation.
Who's with me?

FINDING NEW WAYS TO WIN
The gun goes off, the horses are launched out of their gates, and all that can be heard is the thunder of hoofs. As the steeds round the first corner, the crowded grandstand is on their feet, cheering their favorite horse and rider to the finish line. Then the celebration begins with ribbons and pictures and congratulations all around.
It seems that every contest in life has a winner and a lot of losers, or at least people who didn't win. Well, you say, not everybody can win. Yes, I understand that, but the loser can someday be a winner if they adjust themselves toward that mark.
I'm convinced the most important thing to do in life to be a winner is to understand that God made us to succeed in so many different ways.
Romans the eighth chapter and 37 verse tell us that we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ that loved us.
That tells me there are many ways to win if we allow the Holy Spirit to give us a mind that is not cluttered with doubt, fear, and losing that we might have the mind of Christ, which is full of so many possibilities to win.
The scriptures tell us that Jesus came so that we might have life and that more abundantly. To me, abundant life means that if it doesn't work one way, God will give us the wisdom to make it work another way, but in the end, we will hit the target.
The great American inventor Thomas Edison tried 1000 times to make the lightbulb work. One thousand failures before he struck gold. You and I have spent many hours late into the night reading our favorite books because Thomas Edison didn't give up.
Don't give up, my friends; your miracle is just around the corner.
