PLANNING AHEAD-DOES GOD KNOW YOUR TOMORROWS?
Does God really know the future and what will happen to us in our life?
That sounds like such a silly question to ask on a Christian broadcast. Doesn't everybody believe that God knows every detail about the future because he has set it in motion and predetermined its outcome?
Now hold on a minute; that sounds like a dedicated Calvinist believing that the sovereign God controls us like a puppet.
Or we could be an extremist on the other side of that subject that believes that man is totally in control of his destiny by his faith or actions.
But back to the question, does God know the future?
Yes, I believe he does, but here's another question: Does God control the future?
The answer to that one is, no, he doesn't; you do.
To expand on that statement, let me tell you the difference between foreknowledge and predestination.
God certainly has foreknowledge, but he does not predestinate or set the outcome of your life in place. The actions you take in life determine the outcome of your life.
Foreknowledge is God's desire for you, and that's where the basis of personal prophecy comes from. Hearing that prophecy only becomes fulfilled when you act upon the directions you were given or the knowledge you have to obey.
My understanding of how heaven operates is that when someone prophesies or predicts disaster and dark events, it is not set in stone; it is for our alert that we may change the outcome through the authority he has given us.
If you have dark dreams and see disaster, don't take that as predestination; take it as a warning so you can do your part through prayer to change it.
As gods' human sons and daughters on earth, we have been placed here with the direct command to shape the destiny of this planet that we live PLANNING AHEAD-WHAT'S HAPPENING ON MONDAY?

YOU CAN'T HIDE MATURITY
Desire and maturity are not the same; however, they go together. The desire to be a great baseball player gives energy that causes training and practice. At some point, a dose of talent and practice pays off, and the baseball scout suddenly discovers them.
That rule guides most of what we do in our natural life. The miracle ingredient in our American dream is that you can be anything you want to be if you apply yourself toward that goal. Some of the largest corporations and companies in our nation are being led by CEOs that started in the Mailroom.
They all had one thing in common. They had a combination of desire, ambition, tenacity, and faithfulness. Then add the ingredient of time, and you will have success.
It's not unusual for a new convert to the Christian life to expect everything to happen in one prayer meeting. An untold number of people became discouraged after the prophecy conference because their prophecy did not come to pass by the end of the month.
A prophecy given to you is in the same family as desire; both demand a dedicated Vision, never taking your eyes off the desire you have to accomplish.
Maturity of spirit and character is the same as putting a seed in the ground; give it the proper water and sunshine it will produce what you plant. If you plant the desires of your heart and stay faithful to the task with an ongoing relationship with the father, your seed will come up bountiful.
You can't hide maturity everybody around you will notice it when you enter the room.

FREE FROM SIN AND ITS MEMORY
When the scriptures tell us to have a renewed mind, it refers to the mind of Christ. Part of the conversion process is a change of thinking. Because of that, the greatest battle you may have is not outside of you, such as temporal temptations but inside, concerning your thought life.
If the enemy of your soul can keep you trapped in the memory of your failures, then for all practical purposes, you are stuck in your development as a Christian. This isn't something that hinders your eternal dwelling place in heaven, but it does cripple you for your purpose on earth.
Much of our church background has made us very conscience of sin. We are reminded in the sermons we hear and in our conversations about the things we should not and must not get involved in because it is a sin.
If you live with a sin consciousness, you will continually find fault with yourself.
And the guilt that will produce will drive you away from God.
Hebrews 10 tells us that God has forgotten our sins and failures.
Because we have the same abilities God has, we can also have our memory of those failures washed away and gone.
This is why Romans 8:1 declares to us there is, therefore now, no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus.
Today we declare that we are sin-free, and because of that, the memory of it has been taken away, and we are no longer guilty. We do not have a guilty conscious we have a sin-free conscious.
The scriptures tell us, "he who the son sets free is free indeed."

THE IN-BETWEEN TIMES
For those who have lived for a while, we quickly discovered that life is not one long party or vacation time. Somewhere in our youth, our good parents forced us against our will to clean our rooms and brush our teeth, which may be the first indication that life is not one long playground experience.
When we saw dad leave early in the morning and come home dirty and tired, we had no clue what he was doing all day. All we knew in those days was there was always food on the table, and the house was warm at night.
Then shock of shock, dad tells us that if we're going to have our car, we have to get a job and pay for it and also pay for our insurance.
Now life is getting scary. Do you mean I have to support myself now? What's this thing coming to?
By now, you're also catching the point that I'm talking about our spiritual journey. Our spiritual journey becomes one long party time when we discover that Jesus loves us and abides in us of a truth. It's revival time every day. Oh, how I love those sweet memories.
However, just as it is in our natural life, so is it in our spiritual life.
What we discover about the spiritual walk we're on is that the greatest maturity happens to our character in the in-between times.
Ephesians six and 14 tell us that after we have done all of these things, were to stand and be firm. That's where spiritual maturity begins to shine when no one is looking, and we still maintain the strength of character and focus on the vision before us.
The in-between times are given to us by our heavenly father, so we may have time to recoup, regroup, and be strengthened in the Holy Spirit for the journey ahead.
Only God knows the challenges, and it allows us to prepare for them in the quiet times of our life.
WHEN THERE ARE NO PROPHECIES OR VISIONS, DREAMS, OR ANGEL VISITATIONS, IT'S THE BEST OPPORTUNITY EVER TO LAY YOUR HEAD ON THE CHEST OF CHRIST, JUST LIKE THE APOSTLE JOHN, AND ENJOY THE JOURNEY.

WHOSE FAITH DO YOU LIVE BY? YOURS OR GODS? #978/ WITH DR. GEORGE WATKINS
In the third chapter of Galatians, Paul challenges the church with this question. "Who has deceived you? You started in the spirit and now want to go into the flesh again?" Paul spoke to a group of people who had lived under the Jewish law of works, ceremonies, and a priest.
When the good news of Jesus and his sacrifice on the cross came to them, they eagerly got on board and believed the message of freedom. Unfortunately, religious bondages and traditions are hard to break, and it wasn't long before they were trying to please God with their works once again.
Paul calls this a deception of the devil.
You and I today do not live under the old covenant; we live under the blessings of the new covenant, which is completed by the work that Jesus did on the cross and resurrection. We do not live by our faith now; we live by his faith.
Galatians 3:20 reminds us that we live by the faith of the son of God, who loved us and gave himself for us.
Because this is true, it changes everything we may have been raised in regarding our background in church and the teaching we received in our childhood. If you pay close attention, you will find quite a list of things you must do to please the Lord. And if you keep looking, you will find something that will displease him if you do them.
That's what we call the tradition of the elders, and it's all wrapped around you working your way into the favor of God. Here's breaking news for you it doesn't work that way.
Jesus Christ was all the favor you ever needed, and it completely pleases the father. And because you died with him and Rose with him, you are part of the family, and that never changes.
So enjoy yourself today and let the sunlight of his love warm you all over.

I REFUSE TO REACT TO AN OUTCOME THAT HASN'T HAPPENED YET
Why does the scripture tell us not to fear or have any anxiety about anything?
Simply stated, it's because what we fear will come upon us.
When you fear something, you are, in essence, worshiping that item or that entity.
Worry and anxiety are just another form of fear for someone in the baby stage. This is why the scriptures tell us not to have any other gods before us.
Do you think that's a little severe?
Well, put it this way when you fear, you are an essence bowing down to the thing that is stirring your heart toward fear. You had put yourself in the place the ten spies did when they went into Canaan land. They confessed how small they were and how big the Giants were. Because of that confession, they did not go back and conquer Canaan. Instead, they doomed the entire company of Israelites to 40 years in the desert and death for everyone over 30.
Your reaction to what is predicted Will shape the outcome of that prediction.
Just because someone said sickness is coming, and layoffs at the company or hand do not mean it will happen.
If you stand up on your faith legs and decree the outcome, you will see miracles happen in your life.
My friend, you are the prophet of victory, not the prophet of doom.

YOU CAN NOT BE LOST UNLESS YOU BELONG
In the book of Luke, the 15th chapter, we find the story of three things that were lost and found again. The first was a sheep, and the second was a coin. And the third one was a lost son that we referred to as the prodigal son.
Each of these represents something of value and something that was treasured.
In the illustration of the lost sheep, the shepherd values each sheep equally. If you don't understand the shepherd's heart, you may say I've still got 99 sheep, so I'm not going to make an effort to go after just one lone sheep.
However, the heart of a shepherd has a totally different feeling toward that sheep because it's his and valuable. So he searches until he finds it.
The second illustration finds a valuable coin lost in the house.
Notice it's lost in the house, so the lady of the house sets everything aside, searching everywhere until she finds it. Someone says I have other coins, and I'll find that other someday; after all, it's in the house. But the owner of this coin valued that so much that she searched until she found it.
Remember now Jesus is telling these stories about God and you and me.
We are the lost sheep, and we are the last coin, and we are the prodigal son.
Also, remember that we belong to him; he owns us; we are not our own; we are bought with a price. Jesus bailed us out of the devil's pawnshop and returned us to the father's house.
That's precisely what happened when he rose from the dead and took his blood to the father for approval. And God said that's enough.
I love the prodigal son story because everyone can relate to that in some way. Jesus said we, like sheep, have gone astray; every one of us has wandered off somehow. The story is not only about the sun; it's also about the father who loves the sun so much that he waits at the gate day after day for him to come home.
If this prodigal son's father was anything like my heavenly father, he sent a servant to keep an eye on that boy and knew where he was day and night.
That's precisely what your heavenly father has done; he sent his angels to keep charging you and bring you back to your full position as a son and a daughter of the heavenly family.

THE DAY AFTER
I thought I would take just a few minutes today to give some instructions about the day after, coming from someone who has had a few of them. Among the many things, we desire in life are our celebrations and parties for those of us who love the church and the community of people that go to church; that's where we love to party.
Large anticipated camp meetings and great revival meetings are fantastic times of life for those who love the kingdom of God. So it is with national holidays where families often get together with games, food, and fun. These essential activities fill a particular part of our soul and spiritual life, and we need both to complete our life.
So let's party on.
However, at some point, we realize we are still in our mortal bodies with a limit to their energy. We often have a physical and emotional letdown after the party is over or the convention is closed. It's somewhat kin to a sugar high when the body crashes, and you can't stay awake.
So because I have learned the hard way, let me give you some simple tips for what to do the day after.
The simple answer is that we need to recoup what we have lost in physical energy and emotional strength. We need rest, food, and a renewal of our spiritual man to do that. Because our spirit is the source of our power, we need to feed our spirit first and always. When that is satisfied, everything else will flow together.
So this is the day after we celebrated with our families and friends. We forget our diets and overeat. We probably even talked to some people that we didn't like that well or, to be fair, didn't know that well. And you see how that wears us out.
So today, we give ourselves to meditation on the word of God and his love.

THE POWER OF A THANKFUL HEART
Happy Thanksgiving to you all. Today we celebrate as a nation what we call Thanksgiving day, and President Abraham Lincoln declared this unique national holiday in 1863. On the third Thursday of every November, the nation will take time to remember the goodness of God and be thankful.
I don't believe it was a coincidence that less than two years later, the Civil War ended on May 13, 1865. If I know my biblical history, I would say that an angel of the Lord came to Abraham Lincoln, spoke into his ear, and gave him those directions.
Based upon what I also know about the principles of the kingdom, what you honor will come to you. So during the greatest struggle our nation ever experienced, a seed of Thanksgiving was planted in the very womb of this nation.
Can you imagine the thoughts of the American people when Abraham Lincoln declared a day of Thanksgiving? Looking around them, they thought, how could there be anything to be thankful for? Look at the death and destruction all around us.
Knowing the human soul, I can imagine the despair and hopelessness that the nation was experiencing. Yet the angel of the Lord gave a directive to the nation's leader; turn the people toward a thankful heart, and this nation will be saved.
Today we are also in the middle of a divided nation. One side of the nation is determined to follow their own way and deny God himself. It is exhibited in the policies they try to push into law. They have been gripped by the hand of the deceiver who has always been opposed to God himself. If we continue down this path, we will lose our nation forever.
On the other side are men and women of faith in a God who has promised that he will be with them through all the trouble they will ever have. They remember the founding fathers and their dedication to this nation to Christianity so that it may be the light of the world. Many on this side don't propose to be Christians, but they live by Christian principles such as loving one another and freedom of movement, thought, and speech.
If a spirit of Thanksgiving could turn the Civil War and bring victory, I believe the same spirit of Thanksgiving in this nation today will break the back of the deceiver that has tried to grip us.
In Philippians 4:6 it gives us three keys that will unlock our future through prayer;
It tells us to pray with supplications and Thanksgiving.
Then Colossians 2:7 admonishes us to continue in prayer and watch with Thanksgiving.
Let this Thanksgiving day be an outpouring of the Spirit of God into this nation once again.

CHANGES HAPPEN WITHOUT ASKING PERMISSION
It's picture time in our schools in town and so some of my grandkids are getting their picture taken for the first time. The first thing that I noticed while looking at my little granddaughters picture was how cute she is the next thought was how she has changed.
Changes happen even without our permission. Wait a minute I didn't tell you to grow up so fast. Of course I've been around long enough to know that you can't stop lifecycles from happening.
Some changes in life are really good for us. I'm really glad I'm not 10 years old anymore. I'm sure it was all right at the time but I was sure looking forward to becoming 11 in November.
Our spiritual life has some of those same cycles as we develop as a Christian.
At some stages of our development we would like to stay there forever because it's so wonderful. But without our permission the spirit of God pushes us off balance so that we have to move forward.
I figured my faith was sufficient for where I am everything's going well then suddenly a crisis comes along and I need more faith to overcome it.
So change happens and I suddenly am realizing my faith life is bigger than it used to be. And somehow it happened without my permission.
I am constantly reminded that my father is still in charge of my life even though I pretend like I am at times. He has called me and ordained me to be a son of the most high. And most of the growth that I will get as a journey toward that destination happens without my permission. He does all of this because he loves us.
When we quote John 3:16 and remembering how much God loves us so that he sent his son to die for us. We sometimes forget that it wasn't just for our salvation; it was for our sonship also.
The prodigal son in Luke 15 not only came home he was was also totally restored to his full position in the Family business. You and I are not only coming back to the father through salvation we are being restored back to our original position before the fall.
So rejoice in the changes, embrace them with joy and enjoy the journey.
