THESE ARE THE DAYS OF HAMAN'S GALLOWS
When the enemy prepares a trap for the righteous, the trap they prepared eventually becomes their own demise. One of the most important lessons you can learn in life is that if you walk upright and speak the truth in love, God will take your defense and defeat your enemy.
This is what makes unforgiveness and revenge so deadly to those who carry them in their soul. Even though they have moral and legal reasons for unforgiveness, if they try to bring about the destruction of their enemy, God will not fight their battles; when you do that, you are on your own.
The prominent ruler in the book of Esther, Hamon, had it in his mind to destroy the Jews and those who supported them. So he set about to sway the king and, in the process, built the gallows for the Jewish leader to die on.
If you know the story of Esther and her promotion to be the nation's queen, then you know that Hamon was hung on the gallows he built for someone else.
The principle of this story is that if we focus our attention on loving God and loving our neighbor even though we have deadly enemies all around us, God will defend us and bring us to victory.
David declares in the 91st psalm that even though 10,000 people would fall all around us, we would not be moved. Even with deadly arrows and death and destruction close at hand, God will fight our battles for us.
Look around you today at our national scene, and you will see various groups of people building gallows to hang God's people on. They have risen against Christ and his church, thinking they can once and for all get rid of us and stop our message.
Keep the faith, keep your focus on Jesus, and let your love be the fuel that powers your engine.
History will testify of the faithfulness of God to his children once again.
